Barminco Holdings Limited and Independence Group NL (IGO) have announced the beginning of works to develop the Bollinger section of the Nove project, Norseman in Western Australia.
Last month, IGO announced that the first development ore was mined at the $443 million Nova project where Barminco reached 5.5 kilometres of underground development at the site. This underground development included a 1.5 kilometre long haulage decline as well as a parallel ventilation decline

With the development on the Bollinger section, production operations are expected to start earlier than what was anticipated and this will boost the overall production of the Nova project. The Bollinger section will also help during the ‘ramp up’ phase of the project – bringing in more ore at a faster pace, allow the blending of ore from Bollinger and Nova as well as provide a more consistent mill feed.
“Barminco will be purchasing additional underground equipment such as Jumbos, loaders and trucks and anticipates hiring a further 20 people to deliver on the Bollinger scope, further highlighting the importance of this world class project.” – Barminco CEO, Peter Stokes
