The next stage of works to upgrade Mulgoa Road in New South Wales will soon begin. This follows the signing of the contract with Mulgoa Road Alliance delivery partners Seymour Whyte and Turnbull Engineering.
Mulgoa Road Stage 2 will span from Jeanette Street to Glenmore Parkway, tying in seamlessly into Stage 1 from Jeanette Street to Blaikie Road to deliver better, safer access in and out of Glenmore Parkway as well as the southern section of Mulgoa Road.
Key scope of Stage 2 includes replacing the roundabout at Glenmore Parkway and Mulgoa Road with traffic lights, with up to three additional lanes on the approach roads and dedicated turning lanes at the intersection. The upgrade will also deliver a shared path and dedicated bus lanes.
Stage 2 works will ramp up this year and are expected to be completed in 2029.
The $250 million Mulgoa Road Stage 2 project is jointly funded by the Australian and New South Wales Governments.
Stage 1, which is due to be completed this year, involves widening the road to three lanes in each direction along with intersection upgrades and better access in and out of Penrith Homemaker Centre. Progress along this section of the upgrade has now seen traffic switch into its final configuration as works continue to progress towards completion.
