The joint venture between Zenviron Pty Ltd and GE Renewable Energy has been awarded a $200 million contract for works on the 135MW Crudine Ridge Wind Farm in New South Wales.

Under their contract, Zenviron will undertake the design and construction of the civil and electrical balance-of-plant works as well as the transportation and erection of the 37 wind turbines. On the other hand, GE will be manufacturing the wind turbines and deliver them to port. GE will also provide commissioning and technical assistance for the wind farm.

The Crudine Ridge Wind Farm - located approximately 45 kilometres south of Mudgee - is being developed by CWP Renewables. Once the wind farm is completed, it will be able to generate enough clean energy that can power up to 55,000 homes a year. Crudine Ridge Wind Farm will also inject more than $160,000 a year to the local economy through a community fund initiative.

The development of the Crudine Ridge Wind Farm is expected to create up to 75 new jobs to the region, with opportunities for local businesses.

“... the Crudine Ridge Wind Farm contract represents key strategic progress, further developing our position as a leader in balance-of-plant works and expanding our service offering with the award of the transport and erection component of the project,” Zenviron General Manager Carl Keating said.

Major construction activities are ready to commence, with early works already completed. The Crudine Ridge Wind Farm is expected to be completed by October 2019.
