For this project, Zenviron will deliver engineering, procurement, construction and balance-of-plant (BoP) commissioning services. On the other hand, Vestas will be supplying and installing the wind turbines.

“We’re excited to again be working with Vestas in delivering a sustainable energy future for Australia,” Zenviron General Manager Carl keating said.

Lal Lal Wind Farm will comprise of two sections that are nine kilometres apart on farmland across the Moorabool Shire, south east of Ballarat. The Yendon section of the wind farms is going to be connected to the existing Ballarat Area Terminal distribution line, while the Elaine section of the wind farms is going to be connected directly to the Elaine Terminal Station adjacent to it.

The wind farms will have a total of 60 turbines and will have a total generating capacity of approximately 228MW - enough to power up to 95,000 homes annually and represent a saving of 780,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide a year.
