The $300 million Western Sydney stadium is the first project to be delivered from the NSW Government’s stadia strategy. According to Minister Ayres, a formal request for tenders will be announced shortly and the winning consortium will be announced later in the year. The winning contractor is going to be responsible for the project’s stage two planning approval.

Expressions of interest were called in June for the $300 million project.

Construction on the new stadium is expected to begin in early 2017, after the demolition of the current Parramatta Stadium. The Western Sydney Stadium is set to be fully operational by 2019.
