Dexus Property Group and head contractor Built has begun the construction of the 105 Phillip Street development in Parramatta. This development is one of the six projects – with a combined worth of $295 million – that Dexus is undertaking in Parramatta.

“Our development supports the City of Parramatta’s growth as a place to invest and do business. With improving infrastructure, such as the proposed light rail to Homebush, Parramatta will continue to be an attractive office location,” said Dexus Chief Investment Officer Ross Du Vernet.

105 Phillip Street is going to be a world-class building with a span of 25,000 square metres. It will be the new home of 1,800 employees from the New South Wales Department of Education starting March 2018 when construction has been completed.

“Parramatta is a significant economic and employment hub and continues to provide the ideal location for government and corporate organisations to locate their employees. A recent report shows that Parramatta will have a total workforce of 186,000 by 2021 with a $30 billion economy. We look forward to welcoming Department of Education staff to Parramatta,” said City of Parramatta Administrator Amanda Chadwick.

The building was designed by Bates Smart and it will provide a ‘vertical village’ workspace – a contemporary, functional, flexible and efficient workspace – for its future tenants. The building will feature an expansive rectangular office floor plates as well as interconnecting stairs which offers the flexibility to cater for multiple communities.
