Transport for NSW has recently awarded Downer Group with contracts to deliver works for two train station upgrade projects under the NSW Government’s Transport Access Program.
Panania Station
Downer is expected to commence works on Panania Station’s accessibility upgrade in June 2017 and it will take about 12 months to complete.
Improvements on the station will include:
“This upgrade will make it significantly easier for our less mobile customers, including those with a disability, parents with prams and travellers with luggage to access public transport services,” a Transport for NSW spokesperson said.
Victoria Street Station
Downer is responsible for the delivery of Victoria Street Station’s upgrade, with improvement works to be done to the commuter car park and transport interchange.
Works will include:
Subject to planning approval, upgrade works on Victoria Street Station is expected to begin by mid-2017.
"Planning is underway for an upgrade of Victoria Street Station which will make it significantly easier for our less mobile customers to access public transport, including people with disabilities, parents with prams and travelers with luggage," a Transport for NSW spokesperson said.
