Construction is now underway on Suncorp’s new headquarters on 80 Ann Street in Brisbane, Queensland. Mirvac is going to be building the 35-storey Woods Bagot-designed office tower.

“We are pleased to be partnering with Mirvac on this important project, as they help us bring together our people from across three city locations into a modern and collaborative workspace,” Suncorp’s Acting CEO Steve Johnston said.

The new office building will feature spaces which will open up to external and landscaped green areas, incorporating elements from Brisbane City Council’s “Buildings that Breathe” principle. In addition, the Brisbane Fruit and Produce Exchange located on Turbot Street is going to be revitalised as it will become part of the development.

“80 Ann Street will combine quintessential Queensland design features with visionary global thinking to create an exceptional workplace for tenants and an activated city precinct for the community.

“We are excited to commence construction on this iconic development for Brisbane CBD and look forward to welcoming Suncorp to its new workplace in 2022,” Mirvac CEO and Managing Director Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz said.

This project will also incorporate a Suncorp store which will cater to its customers as well as a precinct that will provide a vibrant destination for the local community.

For months, Mirvac has been working closely with Suncorp as well as Woods Bagot for the delivery of this project.

The 80 Ann Street development is set to become the smartest building in Australia and “healthiest” in Brisbane.

“With a focus on incorporating biophilia throughout the design, 80 Ann Street will be surrounded by an urban garden oasis while also providing cutting-edge smart building technology, flexibility and premium amenities,” Lloyd-Hurwitz said.

The development is aiming for ratings of 6 Star Green Star, 5 Star NABERS Energy and Gold Shell and Core WELL.

Construction is due for completion by early-2022.
