Plans revealed for a $3bn casino and residential project on the Gold Coast

A $3 billion casino and residential development project for the Gold Coast is expecting to get the thumbs up. Plans for this development was presented by Chinese-owned ASF Consortium and James Packer’s Crown Resorts.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk together with Infrastructure and Planning Minister Jackie Trad and State Development Minister Anthony Lynham have already signed off on a process deed with ASF who will be building the project.

This casino and residential project is going to be situated between Palazzo Versace and Sea World resort on The Spit. Development will include three towers as well as seven high-end restaurants and a Florida Keys-style bridge which will connect The Spit to Southport, reducing traffic congestion.

“It’s been a long journey but it has allowed us to ensure that what we deliver is going to be something truly iconic.

“It will help raise the profile and the brand of South East Queensland,” ASF Director Louis Chien said.

Final approval on the master plan from Cabinet is expected to be given before Christmas and construction to begin as early as March 2017.
