Property developer Gurner has chosen Icon Co. as the head contractor for the final stage of the three-tower $90 million ‘FV’ No.1 project in Fortitude Valley, Queensland.

The Elenberg Fraser-designed development will be located at the site of the current No.1 building and construction on the new FV project will begin as soon as the existing tenants of No.1 relocates to a new location in early 2017.

Icon Co.’s contract will include the construction of 267 apartments within the new No.1 building together with four levels of high-end retail and commercial space.

According to Icon Co.’s Director Mark Spry, they are very excited to be a part of this project.

“Icon is delighted to partner with Gurner to deliver their vision for the FV No.1 project,” Mr Spry said.

Gurner’s Director Tim Gurner said that the No.1 tower is going to be the most anticipated out of the three towers to be constructed for this project.

“We are excited to have appointed our long term collaborator Icon to construct our third and most ambitious of the three FV towers,” Mr Gurner said.

Construction is set to begin in early 2017 and is expected to have a 27-month timeline to completion.
