Procurement has commenced for the remaining work packages for Sydney Metro West and a new innovative contracting approach has been introduced.
The Sydney Metro West Partnership contracting model was developed as a result of industry feedback as well as lessons learned from the Sydney Metro City & Southwest development and national and international projects.
This new contracting model will provide a more collaborative approach to construction, and it also aims to support a more sustainable construction industry.
Further development and refinement of the model will be undertaken with the market as part of the prequalification process that will begin in January 2023.
Contracts that are currently being considered for the new Partnership include:

Sydney Metro West is a once-in-a-century project that will transform Sydney and the way people move around the region for years to come.
This massive transport project will deliver a new 24-kilometre metro line along with new metro stations at Westmead, Parramatta, Sydney Olympic Park, North Strathfield, Burwood North, Five Dock, The Bays, Pyrmont and Hunter Street in the CBD.
Construction on Sydney Metro West commenced in 2020 and it is expected to create up to 10,000 direct and 70,000 indirect jobs.
