The North East Link Project is Victoria’s largest road project to date and it will link the M80 Ring Road to an upgraded Eastern Freeway.
Once open to traffic, North East Link will reduce travel times between Melbourne’s north and south east by approximately 35 minutes and will remove around 15,000 trucks from local roads each day.
The entire development is estimated to cost around $16 billion and will create up to 10,000 jobs during its construction.
In June, the preferred contractor to undertake the tunnelling package was announced. You can read more about it here.
Works on the tunnelling package is expected to begin following the award of the contract later this year.
