The Australian Government has committed approximately $844 million to the Bruce Highway Upgrade Program through the Federal Budget 2017-18. With this investment, construction will be accelerated on the Pine River to Caloundra project as well as the Deception Bay Interchange sections and additional safety works.

Projects included in the 2017-18 Budget for the Bruce Highway Upgrade Program are:

  • $530 million to accelerate planning as well as construction works between Pine River and Caloundra
  • $11.2 million to upgrade the Wide Bay Highway/Bruce Highway intersection
  • $120 million for the Deception Bay Interchange upgrade
  • $182.6 million for additional safety works

“The Bruce Highway is absolutely vital to moving people around south-east Queensland.

“We’re over the congestion, so to get some funding is fantastic; it’s a tremendous growth area,” said Mayors of South-East QLD Director and Logan Mayor, Luke Smith.
