The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the $507 million Gruyere Gold Project in Western Australia has been awarded to Civmec Limited, as part of the Amec Foster Wheeler Civmec joint venture (ACJV).
Civmec’s scope of works will comprise of the detailed design and procurement as well as installation of the process plant and other facilities such as administration office, workshop and warehouse. Works will also include the main water pipeline and borefield powerlines.
“Civmec is dedicated to working closely with the local community on the project, we have developed a comprehensive local and indigenous engagement plant. With plans to self-perform the steel fabrication at our Henderson facility, this project emphasises Civmec as Australia’s largest globally competitive steel fabricator,” said Civmec Chief Executive Officer Patrick Tallon.
Engineering works on the project has commenced, with works on-site expected to begin in July 2017. Over 300 jobs will be supported during peak construction and the process plant is due to be completed by December 2018.

Jemena Northern Gas Pipeline Pty Ltd has awarded Civmec Limited several contracts for works at the Phillip Creek Compressor Station (PCCS) of the Northern Gas Pipeline (NGP) project located near Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory.
Civmec has secured a contract from Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) for works on the $1.7 billion Eliwana iron ore mine and rail development located approximately 90 kilometres north-west of Tom Price in the Pilbara, Western Australia.
