Sedgman – CIMIC Group’s minerals processing company – has secured a $120 million contract extension for works at MACH Energy’s Mount Pleasant operations in New South Wales.
The contract extension will get Sedgman to continue operating and delivering maintenance services at the Mount Pleasant Coal Handling and Preparation facility for another three years.
The company completed the construction of the facility and has been operating the Mount Pleasant processing plant since 2019.
“Sedgman and CIMIC Group have a strong history with MACH Energy which we’re pleased to continue. Sedgman’s leadership in minerals processing will ensure maximum resource recovery for our long-term client,” CIMIC Group Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Juan Santamaria said.
“This contract is testament to the partnership we have forged with MACH Energy, and the integration of our engineering and operations capability,” Sedgman Managing Director Grant Fraser said.
The Mount Pleasant coal mine is located approximately 2.5 kilometres from Muswellbrook in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales. The mine was acquired by MACH Energy from Rio Tinto in 2015.
Thiess – also a member of the CIMIC Group – has been providing mining services at the Mount Pleasant mine since 2017.
